I enjoy painting and developed a love for art as far back as I can remember. I live now and work as a part-time painter outside of Washington DC. I am more focused on watercolor and calligraphy and feel extremely grateful to be creative whenever I have time.
Inspired by light and surprising color and water combinations, I intend to infuse these elements and form abstract, impressionistic, or realistic compositions. No matter what the subject is, I strive to portray a balance of realism combined with loose painterly abstraction, causing one to complement the other, they are as beautiful closed up as they are from a distance. I hope you get that sense of wonder when you look at the pictures taking in their depth of color their intricate patterns and their joyfulness.
Chinese calligraphy is another beauty, it is the writing of Chinese characters as an art form, combining purely visual art and interpretation of the literary meaning. The type of expression has been widely practiced in East Asia and has been generally held in high esteem across the region. The beauty of Chinese calligraphy lies in the balance, rhythm, and harmony of the characters, as well as the skillful use of brushstrokes and ink. Each stroke is carefully crafted to convey meaning and emotion, making it a unique and personal form of artistic expression.
I hope this compilation of artwork provides joy and inspiration and breathes color or black/white into your life.
